Rather Germanic on the nose. Very lively, rather salty and extremely distinctive and very dry - drier than any other Pinot Gris. Racy - good aperitif.

The Pike & Joyce vineyard, high up in the Adelaide Hills outside of the town of Lenswood, is a very special place. The steep slopes only permit hand pruning and harvesting. The fruit exhibits great intensity and purity. This '06 Pinot Gris is a beauty. Clean and fresh nectarine and pear flavors leap out of the glass. Hints of stone and flint linger all the way to the vibrant and long finish. This wine is both intensely flavored and wonderfully elegant. One of the best New World Pinot Gris's you are ever likely to taste. Enjoy whilst it is young and frisky.
