For more than 200 years the Schmitt family has been involved in the art of winemaking in the Mosel, passing on its knowledge and experience from generation to generation. In 1919 the company Schmitt Shne was founded and today its headquarters at Longuish in the Mosel is the focal point for its world-wide activities. In addition to wines from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Schmitt can now offer a comprehensive list of Estate wines from other important German wine growing areas. Schmitt Shne's business strategy places considerable emphasis on providing a comprehensive wine portfolio that can be developed and further enhanced with innovative promotions and merchandising support. Schmitt Shne export its wines to every corner of the world and place great emphasis in portraying the company as a "service partner" to their customers rather than just a normal supplier. Vintag...

Vintage: 2009 Grapes: Riesling and Müller-Thurgau Notes: Piesporter Michelsberg is a very well known wine. The vines are grown on slate soil that is typical of the Mosel area. The fruity acidity, rather than alcohol, is the backbone of this wine and enhances its longevity. Serve: Chilled at 10 - 12 C. Ideal with fish, white meats, poultry or cheese. Taste: A light, fresh, scented white wine. It has a hint of residual sweetness, balanced with a clean bite of fruity acidity.
