Pierre Usseglio Fils & Châteauneuf-du-Pape(2001)

It exhibits a deep ruby purple color and a wonderful sweet nose of black cherry, raspberry, licorice, spice box, and roasted herbs, with full body, beautiful texture, a long, heady finish, and loads of fruit, glycerin, and decent acidity, this wine should drink beautifully for 12-15+ years.

Hedge-fruit nose. Sound depth, open, very Grenache, mineral. Suave, wholesome, fleshy. Savoury finale, liquorice, plum. Good authenticity. Drink 3-10 years.

This vintage of Chƒteauneuf-du-Pape has all the characteristics of a classic: pepper, leather, earth and an abundance of black cherries. Based on Grenache with Cinsault, MourvŠdre and Syrah. A full-bodied red wine that's packed with flavors to evolve for decades to come.
