Pale yellow with a tinge of green. Mild aromas- slightly floral and green apple. The degree of sweetness is listed on the back-label. Rated 1 of 9 (9 being the sweetest). Dry, with tastes of lemon and minerals. Some nice acidity on the finish. Good value for the price. I paid $10.95.

As I begin my Alsace region wine tasting adventure I begin with Pierre Sparr Alsace Riesling 2007.Fairly dry and full flavored with an abundance, almost overbearing lime taste leaving little to no apple taste for the pallet. If you like lime its worth trying as taste lingers after each drink.Worth trying for price alone.

A light, easy-drinking Riesling, with crisp acidity and flavors of lemon verbena, green apple and stone. Bright and fresh. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 7,500 cases made. -AN

Intensely fresh wine, crisp apples and bright fruit with a light touch of pineapple juice. The acidity is mouthwatering, with a lightly perfumed edge. Screwcap.

Bright apricot and green apple fruit is held in check by an austere, citrusy acidity, keeping the flavors vivid and bright.

The 2001 Riesling (yellow label) reveals spiced apples and minerals in its aromatics. Dry, broad, and light-bodied, this is a simple, pure, mineral and tea-dominated offering for drinking over the next 3-4 years.

Broad strokes of almond and apple mark this straightforward, light- to medium-bodied white, picking up a hint of grapefruit peel on the finish. Drink now through 2001.

Winemaker's Notes:

In the glass, gleaming pale yellow with green reflections, the 2011 Riesling opens with aromas of lemon peel and green apple, followed by a touch of light yellow banana and delicate green granadilla (passion fruit). Upon aeration, notes of sweet cherry blossoms are framed by minerally firestone scents. On the palate, it is smooth, with soft acid, a well-balanced light body and softly spicy finish.
