Pierre Gimonnet is one of the smaller grower houses of Champagne that absolutely deserves discovering. The Gimonnet family have been cultivating their vines in the villages of Cuis, Cramant, and Chouilly, on Champagne's famous Cote des Blancs, since 1750. The Gimonnet's restrict themselves to working solely with Chardonnay sourced from high quality plots on the Cotes des Blancs. The Pierre Gimonnet Fleuron 2002 has soft white fruits on the nose, with aromas of toffee and white flowers. The palate exposes the excellent structure, with acidity just behind the texture. This wine has a lovely nutty edge to all the fruit flavors.
