Winemaker's Notes:

"Not surprisingly, the 2005s are tannic longer-term wines with a style not
dissimilar from the Cote Roties of 1995, which were tannic and backward, yet
for the most part have never come around. As for the top cuvee, the dense, dark
ruby/purple 2005 Cote Rotie Rose Pourpre displays smoky, olive notes intermixed
with spicy new oak, creme de cassis, licorice, and incense. The wine is
full-bodied, powerful, and very backward and tannic. The purity is there, the
texture is there, so I suspect this is one that will come through in good form
and possibly be better than my initial rating."

(Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Apr -2007)
