Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 2005 Pierre Gaillard Cote Rotie Rose Pourpre 750ml
"Not surprisingly, the 2005s are tannic longer-term wines with a style not
dissimilar from the Cote Roties of 1995, which were tannic and backward, yet
for the most part have never come around. As for the top cuvee, the dense, dark
ruby/purple 2005 Cote Rotie Rose Pourpre displays smoky, olive notes intermixed
with spicy new oak, creme de cassis, licorice, and incense.
