Food Pairings for Pieropan Soave
Pieropan’s estate covers 30 hectares of vineyard, all of which are situated on the stony hills of the Soave Classico zone. The Pieropan family has been producing wines in Soave since the 1860s. Indeed, they were the first producer to bottle a wine with the name Soave on the label, in the early 1930s. Nino Pieropan took over from his father in 1970, and was the first to make a single vineyard wine, Calvarino, in 1971. The Garganega gives structure and acidity to the wines, while the Trebbiano di Soave gives perfume and richness of flavour. Brilliant straw yellow in colour with greenish tints. The nose is delicate and reminiscent of almond blossom and marzipan. There is good depth of fruit on the palate, nicely balanced by a zingy acidity that enhances its long length.
