This is a very nice Picpoul; classic flower and citrus aromas, with good acidity and minerality. Perfect wine with seafood. Read more

Winemaker's Notes:

Berry Bros & Rudd review:
There is something very worthy, yet dangerous, about being a grape variety that only grows in one very specific region. Picpoul is one such and, being grown in Pinet, gives its name to both the wine and the appellation. Coming from the deep south of France (the vineyards are in sight of the Mediterranean near Sète), it benefits from having a generous level of natural acidity -piquepoul translates as "stinging lip"- and is the perfect partner to the local Bouziques oysters. But what marks it out for me is the extraordinary hint of fennel that seems infused within the wine, simultaneously redolent of both la cuisine and the Mediterranean.
(Mark Pardoe MW, BBR Wholesale - Feb 2011)
