First open, lots of earth on the nose and some funk. With time and air, a chalky, cocoa powder nose of rich cherry fruit emerges. Dark chocolate and leather notes give way to floral tones. On the palate, it's rich and well structured. Dark cherry fruit intermingled with toasty cocoa and charred oak. Some hints of coffee as well. It retains great acidity and is very food friendly. Dry, but with round tannins. Tasty wine! 90 pts.
