Picardy Pinot Noir(2001)
- The Wine Messenger
- 93/100

March 2007
- Pale brick/tile color. Quite aromatic, nose of red berries and strong raspberries perfume. Medium-bodied, light in structure like all good Pinot Noir with instant aromas of red berries and strawberries. Very similar to a good Burgundy but with a little more ethyls. Fine tannins and a long finish on fruit (25 seconds). Can be cellared for 2 to 4 years. Ideal with red meats, veal, and strong cheeses. A very good Pinot Noir from Australia.

- Picardy Pinot Noirs exhibit finesse and complexity. Perhaps it is due to the clones they use which come from Burgundy. Excellent fruit intensity, structure, and fine-grained tannins guarantee a long life and excellent bottle development. The wines are also approachable young. Cellarable for up to 5 years. Excellent integration of oak characters. It has length and intensity delivered with Pinot subtlety. More a wine to enjoy with food.
