The nose showed, saddle leather, cedar, strawberry and brown sugar. On the palate, this wine is full and well structured with sweet dark fruits, holiday spices and hints of herbs. It was highly enjoyable through the long fresh finish.
The 97 vintage was one of Italy's best. During our time in Sicily we picked up three cases of the vintage and it is pure joy to indulge in a glass. The color is deep red with wonderful balance. The nose is less fruity than the 99 which is predominatly fruity (blackberry). The taste is complex and full, with a long, long finish. Among the Brunellos, this is my favorite.

Very rich and plummy, with lots of mineral and floral undertones. Full, fresh and very powerful, with big, yet silky tannins and a long aftertaste of cherry and spices. Very, very long.
