Phillips Hill Pinot Noir Mendocino County Oppenlander Vineyard 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

This is the most elegant vintage to date, reminiscent of an old world Burgundy, balanced cherry and pomegranate entry finishing with soft spicy tannins. A definite cuisine complement.

Drinking very well now! Great wine with bright acidity, red cherry flavors backed up by a little earth. We drank on its own, but it would be tremendous with food, perhaps even Turkey dinner!

Pinot Noir Shootout: Male: Well balanced. Cherry, raspberry, plum, and oak throughout. Long finish with racy acidity. Great food wine! Female: Nice firmness of acidity. Good fruit concentration of cherry, red cherry and a touch of sour cherry on the finish. Lightly grained tannins with quite a bit of creamy mocha to complete this wine. 550 cases
