Winemaker's Notes:

Philip Shaw purchased the land for his Koomooloo vineyard in June 1988. In close proximity to the region’s highest peak, Mt Canobolas, Koomooloo vineyard rises to an altitude of 900M with red loam soils over limestone. Koomooloo is a unique hand kept vineyard with a routine of hand pruning, shoot thinning, leaf plucking, crop thinning, and hand picking happening in multiples if needed. The No 19 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Block 4 - East facing on a very steep slope. Rows run east west which works for the Sauvignon Blanc sensitive nature the direction allows for good airflow and protects the bunches from the elements. Sauvignon Blanc is the only variety cane-prunned on the vineyard, the focus is on the first two buds per shoot ensuring even set/crop.
