Philip Shaw purchased the land for his Koomooloo vineyard in June 1988. In close proximity to the region’s highest peak, Mt Canobolas, Koomooloo vineyard rises to an altitude of 900M with red loam soils over limestone. Koomooloo is a unique hand kept vineyard with a routine of hand pruning, shoot thinning, leaf plucking, crop thinning, and hand picking happening in multiples if needed. The No 11 Chardonnay is sourced from Block 6, a northerly facing block and equally the oldest block on the vineyard and Block 11, which drops from the vineyards backbone down a steep south face. “... pure white honey and white peach nose, fine, precise yet rounded fruit flavours with mineral back-up and great length, this is a truly elegant Chardonnay.” - 'Spurrier’s World' in Decanter Magazine.
