Pfaffl Zweigelt 2005

External Review by Palm Bay International:

Austrian Cherry 2008/ The name suggests freshness, and that’s what you get with bright berry red wine that tastes of – surprise – red cherries. The tannins are soft, the fruit juicy, there is just a touch of pepper.

Austrian Cherry 2008 - 91 Points & A Top Value of the Year, Wine & Spirits/ Whether or not you approve of the name, this is an impressive zweigelt, its dark cherry and raspberry flavors gaining complexity from hints of game and wood smoke. The contrast between juicy fruitiness and edgier, earthier components creates vibrant tension.

Austrian Cherry 2011 - 86 points, Wine Enthusiast/ This juicy wine is smoky with wood aging. Black cherry flavors live up to the name, giving a freshness to this flavorful wine. It’s not a complex wine, but has a ripe, forward, open feel—just pleasure.

Austrian Cherry 2011 - Austrian Mountain Red: Suggested Wine, Snooth / Tight but clean on the nose with subtle dried herb notes early on, followed by black fruit, gravel and cinnamon. There are some fairly significant tannins here, soft but abundant, and lovely hints of violet and blueberry-accented fruit on the mid palate...leaving behind some lovely black cherry and floral inner mouth perfumes and those slightly tacky tannins and juicy acidity.

Austrian Cherry 2009 - 86 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Yes, cherry is a good name for the red cherry flavors of this cheery wine. Soft tannins, plenty of forward fruit, balanced acidity. Delicious.
