Petit Cheval Bordeaux Blend Wine 2013

Member Review by JonDerry:

Rich, red black in color. Some sweet soil with a hint of red fruit and musky overtones on the nose. Very light on the palate with a little tannic grip showing, but overall there is some emptiness in the mid palate behind the weak combination of fruit, soil, and acidity. Disappointing 87-88 points.

Offers a plush, supple, nicely rounded feel, offering notes of creamy plum and cherry preserves, with perfumy spice gliding in on the finish. Still youthfully primal, but there are no angles or austerity here, just pure fruit. Tasted non-blind.-J.M. Wine Spectator. This has a little more Cabernet Franc than usual. Intense aromas of dried flowers, spices and blueberries. Full-bodied, juicy and fruity, with a beautiful softness and polish. Goes on for minutes. The finest second wine yet made at Cheval Blanc, the 2008 Le Petit Cheval is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. Elegant, soft, and richly fruity, it offers up hints of wood spice, forest floor, flowers, and black fruits. With sweet tannin ... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A fresh and fruity wine, with blackberry and cherry character, medium body and a clean finish. Pretty and delicious. Second wine of Cheval-Blanc. Drink now through 2006. (JS) Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Le Petit Cheval 750ml

Delivers plum and spices on the nose, with hints of coffee and black licorice. Full-bodied, offering a wonderful silky texture and a long, long finish. So inviting and delicious already. -JS Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Le Petit Cheval 750ml

One of the stronger second wines I have tasted from manager/winemaker, Pierre Lurton, the 2006 Le Petit Cheval exhibits a dark ruby hue along with sweet red and black fruit notes intermixed with underbrush, forest floor, and licorice characteristics....
