The 2001 Chardonnay Belle Côte exhibits exotic tropical fruit notes, a layered, opulent texture, medium to full body, less minerality than La Carriere, beautiful layers of fruit, and a stunning finish. This brilliant effort should drink well for 5-7 years.

Young, raw and vibrant, yet rich and concentrated. Still coarse and leesy, but with a rich, solid core of fig, melon, pear and spice. Full-bodied, focused and persistent, gaining depth. Drink now through 2015.

Green-gold. Ripe melon and peach on the nose, with notes of honey and toasty lees adding an impression of richness. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, displaying dense pit fruit and honeydew flavors and a late note of candied orange. Finishes smooth and broad, with lingering spiciness and a hint of allspice.

A big, bold style, with plenty of toasty oak and elements of graham cracker and wood. But also shows ripe, rich pear, apple and honeyed fruit that fans out nicely on the palate. Drink now through 2010.

Ultrarich and concentrated, built around a core of ripe fig, melon, ripe pear and spice notes. Keeps the focus on the fruit. Long and persistent. Drink now through 2012.

The 2008 Chardonnay Belle Cote offers copious aromas of honeyed orange blossoms, brioche and sweet pineapple as well as a full-bodied, dense, rich mouthfeel and great acidity buttressing the winersquo;s intensity and power. This superb white wine can be enjoyed over the next 7ndash;8 years.

Sleek and restrained, with flavors that build slowly, revealing subtle pear, fig, tangerine and honeysuckle notes that unfold gracefully, ending with a tight focus and smoky, toasty, fruity flavors. Drink now through 2011.
