As a 5th generation Barossan, Peter Lehmann was the son of a Pastor and was born in Angaston in 1930. He started wine-making in 1947 under the mentorship of the great Rudi Kronberger, moving on after thirteen years to become manager and wine producer at Saltram Wines. His own estate was founded in 1979, to support the Barossa growers facing financial ruin due to overproduction, and he soon became acknowledged as a producer of premium quality wines gaining an international reputation and following. James Halliday, the eminent wine writer said "It's not often a person becomes a legend in their own lifetime" Grapes : 75% Premium Shiraz, 25% Grenache Region : Australia / Barossa Maker : Andrew Wigan Notes : A deep, vibrant red colour discloses a delightful bouquet of dark red fruits with a soft hint of aniseed. A richly flavoured, fruit driven wine with wonderful aromas and a superb soft finish. Serve : The young freshness of this wine makes it ideal for lunchtime. Will match perfectly with Mediterranean style dishes such as pizza, pasta or chicken. Also great with spicy barbecued sausages in fresh bread. ABV : 14.5%
