Ruby red. On the nose it has fragrance of strawberries, plums, rasberries, and cherries. The palate bursts with the round fruit flavors that coats all over followed by fine tannins. Finishes off with more fruit flavors. Full bodied. A good buy

Slightly hot nose, spicy and very medicinal finish. However, this is balanced by some nice toffee and licorice. Decent fruits, but overall the finish was overpowering.

Saw a lot of hype from magazines and at wine shops on the great buy status of this wine. At 10 bucks I figured why not? I would not buy this again. Watery, medicinal, and an odd smokey astrigency on the finish. For the price you can taste some strawberry and raspberry on the front of the palate so it will serve certain purposes...

Jean Pierre and Francois Perrin have taken particular care that this Cotes du Rhone meets their stringent standards of excellence. As proprietors of Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, the Perrin family has demonstrated exceptionally high standards for nearly a century. The Rouge originates from a significant portion of the Perrin's own vineyards, including those at Chateau Grand Prebois. Produced from 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Mourvedre, some of which are flash-heated using the same methods as those at Chateau de Beaucastel, the fruit is rich and jammy with peppery spice, concentration and intensity.

Very satisfied with this GSM glend. Great texture, with compote-grade fruit concentration and warm spices (black liq), pepper. Developed nicely after three years in bottle.

I will probably keep one of these around because our Cote Du Rhone selections are not that strong in Mississippi.

I will say however, that it is a decent wine but extremely light. I can see where someone would mistake it for water. Although, it does have some nice cherry flavors and earth tones that I like. Not a long finish. Will drink again but won't rave about it.
