Perrin Cotes du Rhone Resv Red 2009
Dark ruby colour, with purple reflections. Intense nose of macerated cherries and licorice. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied with a generous attack, a pleasant freshness and elegant tannins. This well-balanced wine shows a typical expression of southern Rhône wine with thyme and rosemary aftertaste. Serving: Grilled or roasted lamb, beef, grilled rabbit with thyme and rosemary, with garlic mashed potatoes.
Bright and cheery aromas with cherries. Palate is much deeper and darker, lots of black tar and leather. An austere wine with lots of acidity and some bitterness on the finish.
Simple. Old world style classic from Cotes du Rhone that never seem to fail you. A little more fruit forward with a strong red berry, cherry beginning that mellows out. Never get that spicy, earthy palate that comes with more complex Cotes. Decent everyday drinking red or with hamburgers.
A classic Rhone blend that emits those spicy cherry notes we all love so much. Deep purple hues, aromas of baking spices, and dark fruit all align to make this one hearty red that lends itself well to light red meat or pasta dishes!
Opaque plum with warm aromas of black stone fruits and violets, flavors of black plum, black cherry and spice framed by sweet wood. A terrific value for winter stews, and at 13% alcohol, it paired well with BBQ ribs with a spiced rub!
Rhone's are a favorite of mine and for the price this one is a great deal

According to Robert Parker: The 2009 Perrin et Fils Cotes du Rhone-Villages ratchets up the intensity level. A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple hue, black cherry, black currant, lavender, pepper and Provencal herb characteristics, medium body, pure fruit, silky tannins and no hard edges. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years.
