Perrin & Fils Gigondas la Gille 2004

Member Review by Black Mamba:

This is easily one of the best Rhone wines I have ever tasted! It is bigger and better than several quite more expensive CDP's (up to $45/bottle). It has all the usual "garrigue" of the grenache-based Rhone wines: earthy, smoky, complex; but it also has tremendous fruit both on the nose and the palate. This is a special wine and a better value.

Perrin et Fils also produces two cuvees of Gigondas. Their basic cuvee, which is close to 100% Grenache aged in both tank and foudre, is called La Gille. The 2004 Perrin et Fils Gigondas La Gille is outstanding and certainly a top performance in this... Robert Parker. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2004 Perrin Gigondas la Gille 750ml
