Perrier-Jouët Champagne Blend Champagne Cuvée Fleur de Champagne 1999

Winemaker's Notes:

In 1954 when the company was bought out by the Mumm group, there was a drive to boost the brand and the Belle Epoque prestige cuvée was born. Orginally only made in small quantities and sold to the most exclusive outlets, it is now seen as Perrier Jouët's defining product. In 1902 a beautifully enamelled glass bottle made by the famous glassmaker Emile Gallé was found abandoned in a back room. This became the inspiration for the design for the iconic Perrier Jouët bottles first sold in 1964. This Perrier Jouët Belle Epoque is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier. The wine shows toffee and honey notes on the nose and flavours of sweet lemon curd on the palate combined with hints of white flowers and fresh fruits. The finish is long, floral and wonderfully elegant.

Really fresh and light. Overtones of French Toast, vanilla and honey. Not too sweet and melts in the mouth nicely. Possibly a little overpriced but still a decent bottle.

Hints of vanilla! Great for the money! Smooth, refreshing. Good way to start the New Year.

Pale gold, aromas white flowers, honey, and eggy bread. Delicate to start with surprisingly long finish. Complex; taste of almonds, decent sugar balance.

In my opinion the Perrier-Jouët Brut Cuvée Belle Epoque Fleur de Champagne is one of the nicest Champagne's I've had to date. It's not to sweet and will agree with your pallet perfectly. Many shops sell a single bottle at a semi expensive price (price will vary from store to store) in a large box including two custom wine glasses to remember the occasian if this has been purchased for a special occasion. I really liked and will continue to purchase this for special occasions. Thank you! Read more: http://www.snooth.com/wine/perrier-jouet-fleur-de-champagne-belle-epoque-1999-1/#ixzz189jVFhw9

The tête de cuvée from Perrier-Jouët. Medium-bodied and complex, Fleur de Champagne is enjoyed by lovers of great Champagne for its beautiful flower-painted bottle, as much as its smooth, sophisticated taste. It is 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir.
