Perrier-Jouët Brut Champagne Fleur de Champagne Belle Epoque 2007

External Review:

Light bright gold. Powerful aromas of poached pear cherry pit pungent flowers and buttered toast with a touch of white pepper adding vivacity. Supple and weighty on entry then tighter in the mid-palate offering ripe citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a bitter kick of musky rhubarb. Closes smooth and long with very good breadth and building smokiness. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

The delicate yet focused bouquet highlights aromas of toasty citrus along with hints of yeast and popcorn. Light-medium bodied the firm palate highlights dried apples and pears mingled with hints of sweet spice. As the flavors develop towards the backpalate the textures turn round and viscous with a finish that is both soft and fruity as it lingers pleasantly. Chuck Hayward.

(L0831102415 08.01): Vivid gold. Intense aromas of dried citrus fruits and pear with deeper peach and honey nuances gaining strength in the glass. Deeply pitched and chewy in texture offering broad orchard and pit fruit flavors and a hint of bitter citrus zest. Finishes with very good length and energy leaving buttered toast and lees notes behind. This Champagne seems to be approaching its drinking window. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Elegant with lovely texture and focused lively acidity. Flavors of currant candied lemon zest honey and white peach lead to the creamy biscuit-tinged finish. Drink now through 2019. 5 000 cases imported. - AN Wine Spectator.

Reticent aromas and flavors hinting at vanilla pastry peach citrus and ginger all beautifully integrated with its firm structure and supple texture. A roasted nutty element emerges on the finish. Drink now through 2010. 10 000 cases imported. BS Wine Spectator.

Pale color. Pristine minerally aroma of lemon flowers and mint. Supple and concentrated; rich and seamless. Lovely gentle round fruit; one senses the chardonnay today. This is remarkably approachable already and rather gentle on the finish for such a young Champagne but should evolve in bottle for years. Finishes with sneaky length (Chateau & Estate Wines New York NY) Stephen Tanzers IWC.
