Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Quite a rich, sweet style with a contrast between dark cherry and lifted floral characters - a blend of two regions bringing together different ripeness levels perhaps? Appealing wine but slightly simple. Silken-textured Pinot. Bob Campbell, MW. A Pinot Noir wine from Otago in New Zealand. 2007 Peregrine Pinot Noir 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

Peregrine Wines is located amongst the rugged mountains and lakes of Queenstown, Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. Central Otago`s climate is the closest they have in New Zealand to a continental climate. Founded and owned by Greg Hay, Peregrineís prime focus is on growing premium Pinot Noir from their estate managed vineyards. The fruit for the is sourced from low-cropping vineyards in the Cromwell basin, with a small amount coming from Gibbston. Traditional winemaking techniques are used to produce this Pinot Noir, enabling gentle tannin extraction and creating a complex foundation of flavours and textures. This is a rich and concentrated wine with appealing ripe plum and black cherry fruit. It has a good mouth feel and persistent finish.
