Tasting Notes: Percarlo is made from 100%, estate grown Sangiovese grapes, especially selected from 6 cru zones of our vineyards, which have a low yield of 1kg (resa/ceppo) grapes per vine. To obtain a wine of such extraordinary body and concentration the grapes for Percarlo are usually allowed to mature beyond the normal degree of ripeness. Percarlo is aged in French oak barriques for 20-22 months, bottled unfiltered and held in bottle for another 6 months before being released.Thinning out of grapes: 50%. A hot and dry summer with some rain before the vintage period. A structured wine with long ageing potential. It is well balanced, characterized by a slow and regular ripening of the grapes.
