Pepperwood Grove Cabernet Sauvignon California 2008
Dark ruby color with a nose full of raspberries, cedar, and subtle savory herbs. After the inviting nose entices you to take a sip, you will experience the flavors of rich blackberry cobbler, fresh raspberry jam, and caramel oak tones with integrated hints of basil and fresh figs. For an appetizer, enjoy blue cheese stuffed fresh figs or imported black olives. A flatiron steak or a venison loin stuffed with shitake and oyster mushrooms would be great. However, during the work week, a great burger and steak fries would do the trick.
Quite herbal on the nose, some basil, sage and oregano. The attack is kind of flabby but the wine is not bad, especially at the price. Lighter on the fruit than some cabs I've had but there's still good blackberry and pepper and a hint of spice. Excellent value.
Nose is kind of fun, fruity, with blueberries, smells tart. Mouth is acidic and kind of harsh, there's some volatile acidity here I think. Lemon shavings.
aromas of dark berries and touches of sweetness like a morsel of raspberry chocolate. currants and some tobacco on the palate with lingering dark cocoa notes. very tasty for its value.
smooth, tobacco, hint of oak. don't like cabs too much but this is ok.

Deep Ruby in Color. At first the nose of Savory Herbs blending to a slight soft Caramel and Melon... Unique! And then Dark Berries follow. At first sip there is a full dark berry and Herb. As the wine rest the flavors smooths out. Currants and a hink of oak mid palate. Stays with you for a while and finishes with a mild Melon taste. It's still very young, yet would go well with a Pasta or Roast. Don Sebastiani and Sons did good for the Under $10 Bargin Wine. Ummy!
