Nose of truffle, cocoa, pepper and dark cassis. Also, some hints of balsam wood, Asian spice, incense and leather. Lots of black fruit. Flavors follow with black fruit, incense and leather. Dark, earthy wine with cassis, pepper, cocoa and cedar. Creamy texture. Nice and big. 90 pts. 11/24/12

Scents of plum, flowers and gravel along with chocolate and toast. Some earth. Huge acid on this wine! Ripe dark fruits and minerality. Licorice and espresso finish. Acid and tannin are out of balance in my opinion, so leave it along for another 6 months or more. 83 pts. 8/12/11 at Winery
