Penner-Ash Wine Cellars Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008
A blockbuster wine from the Willamette Valley! Aromas of ripe red cherry wild berries and blackberry with touches of cinnamon and sandlewood. Rich dense textured mouth follows the fruit and spice filled aromas. Juicy round tannins present a seamless lingering finish. Truly dazzling.
Lynn started Penner-Ash Wine Cellars with husband Ron in 1998, carefully crafting small amounts of Pinot noir and Syrah, while she was still at Rex Hill. Their early success with the label caused them to dream of what they could create and in 2001 they began building the Penner-Ash brand full time. Penner-Ash has achieved impressive growth, going from 125 cases of Pinot noir in 1998 to a projected 8,000 cases of Pinot noir and Syrah in 2007.

Lynn Penner-Ash was an oenologist at Stag's Leap before she moved north to start her own winery in Oregon. She uses fruit purchased from local growers at this juncture but she and her husband are busily cultivating their own vineyards. Her wines are extraordinary and award-winning.
The immensely spicy and chocolate-laced nose of the 2004 Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard leads to a soft, medium-bodied wine packed with spicy dark berries and tar. This satin-textured offering is expressive, long, and reveals somewhat firm tannin. Drink it over the next 5 years.
