Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton Shea Vineyard 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): The 2014 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard, which contains a little whole cluster bunches, has fine lift on the nose; in my mind, this a step up from other vineyards with hints of menthol infusing the vivid red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip in the mouth, tea leaves and bay leaf infusing the black berries and bilberries, adorned with a subtle marine-influenced finish coming through on the satisfying finish... Drink: 2018-2028. (Jun 2016)

Penner-Ash:
Lynn started Penner-Ash Wine Cellars with husband Ron in 1998, carefully crafting small amounts of Pinot noir and Syrah, while she was still at Rex Hill. Their early success with the label caused them to dream of what they could create and in 2001 they began building the Penner-Ash brand full time. Penner-Ash has achieved impressive growth, going from 125 cases of Pinot noir in 1998 to a projected 8,000 cases of Pinot noir and Syrah in 2007.
