After a wet winter, spring was cool to mild followed by a warm, drysummer. The 2005 Harvest saw plenty of sunshine and very littlerain. These conditions produced intense flavors, aromatics, andcolors. The 2005 Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon expresses distinctiveCoonawarra regionality and structure unique to the Penley Estateproperty. This elegant, full-bodied wine leads with ripe blackberry andcassis on the nose followed by aromas of spice, dark berries and subtleoak. The tantalizing dark berry flavors are heightened by the velvetyfinish. Drink now or cellar up to five years for additional complexity.

Concentrated currant and blackberry fruit is accented with aromatic herbal and cedar notes, with plenty of grip on the finish. Ready to drink now and over the next four or five years.
