The weather was lovely during the 2004 growing season. Summer throughout the Chilean countryside was very hot and dry. We are fortunate to enjoy light morning fogs coming from the Pacific Ocean. Cool breezes from the ocean just 17 miles away helped cool the grapes in the afternoons. This type of weather gives us a long ripening period, providing for ample levels of sugar and a good amount of refreshing acidity.

Harvest began in April for the Cabernet Franc followed two weeks later by the Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to the grapes for ripening in perfect rhythm and allowing for a staggering read more...

Have had the opportunity to taste this wine as it has matured over the last year. As wonderfully smooth and bold as it was a year ago, just had it again a week ago and, oh my goodness! The depth and complexity of this wine, the uniquenss of the carmenere/malbec blend and the amazing back-end, big fruit comes out from the first sip to the last drop from the bottle. One of the better bottles under $60 I've had in a decade.
