I have a particular patients with Penfold’s due to when I began drinking wine, the first few where Penfold’s. I have always been a fan of Rawson’s Retreat Shiraz/Cab, it’s a good wine for its price. I will admit that the 2006 vintage was less enjoyable but that was across the board with Aussie wines in my opinion. 2007 was supposed to be a bad year but I am pleased with most I have tried. The particular wine has a rich nose, full of plumb. It has a medium to full body, tannins a little higher then I normally enjoy, but the big fruit leaves this wine only slightly unbalance. The finish is smooth, and would pair well with a fat juicy steak. Mmmmmm steak. Moving on… Any flaws I find in this wine are quickly subdued by its unbeatable price. Drink Up.
Got it at discount, although still expensive here in Slovenia. Liked it very much the first and the second day, great with meats or just by itself. Fruity but not too much for a young wine. Would recommend it.
Deep purple nearly black, spicy on the nose, silky and dark on the palate. Quick finish. I bought this for 12-dollars so there must be a mistake with the price listed here.

Soft and appealing for its raspberry and white pepper flavors, showing some intensity and finishing crisp. Drink now through 2004.
