Classic Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon, and the last of the good Bin 407 vintages until 2004. For some reason it appears that Southcorp decided to redirect some of their better Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon to other labels, just after they had established the Bin 407 brand with the strong 1990, 1991 and 1994 vintages

Colour: Deep red with magenta hues. Nose: Expressive varietal lift - predominantly blackcurrant with a hint of tomato leaf. Wild raspberry and blackberry nuances become evident as the wine sits in the glass. A subtle background of spicy, smoky oak. Palate: Generous ripe berry fruits - like blackcurrant conserve - with a suggestion of praline. Pronounced, yet not aggressive, tannins. Finishes with a fruit sweetness and balanced oak/tannin firmness. Serving and Cellaring Suggestions: This wine will gain complexity and evolve with careful cellaring. An ideal accompaniment to roast lamb.
