balsamic, chocolate and spice with blue and black fruits
Rich in color. Dark cherry scent with a hint of licorice and spice. Slightly musty. Rich, velvety and smooth. It was pleasant rolling on the tongue.
A nice, rich-tasting red, goes well with pasta and tomato sauce or spicier dishes.
bitter and bland
A sharp and fruity taste, medium- to full-bodied taste. It went fantastic with some nice sharp cheese. In our group both those who drink wine and those who do not regularly drink wine like this. This is a great deal at $8 a bottle.

Coming from Penfolds' Koonunga Hill Series, this Shiraz show expressive fruit in multi-layers. Great with all of types of food. Blackberries, blueberries, and cherry blended with toasted vanilla notes.
Thick and purple in the glass, with amazing concentration for a wine of this price. Exhibits loads of deep berry and plum flavors, with just a hint of tobacco and vanilla. Deep, rich and juicy, with the bones to last for the next 10-15 years.
Launched in '76, this blend of Shiraz and Cabernet represents the value-driven introduction to Penfold's stellar line of Australian reds. Consistent high-quality has been achieved in a firm, fruity wine that also has great aging potential.
Purple-colored, the wine offers meaty black currant, blackberry, and blueberry aromas. On the palate the wine exhibits remarkable focus and structure for its humble price. The fruit is grapy and primary as well as intensely flavored. It should evolve for several years and drink well through 2022 if not longer.
Combining the generosity of Shiraz with the wonderful structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, this full bodied wine shows rich dark berry, chocolate and spice characgters enhanced by subtle toasty oak nuances. We invite you to explore the Penfolds range and discover a success story more than 160 years old.
