This is a wonderful "light" wine. We first tried it out of the Vinotemp at a temperature of 60 degrees. Next we tried it a bit cooler and the spice and freshness came out much better. It is a GREAT light wine for a hot summer evening, luncheon or start of a dinner party. Very clean and crisp but as I said earlier better a bit on the chillier side............

Winemaker's Notes:

Winemakers Notes: It was late August and anxiety was mounting. We were still bottling and some of my colleagues were already picking Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc, especially from the Leveroni Vineyard, strikes me as one of those knife-edge varieties when it comes to flavor. Pick it too soon and it's green and raw; pick it too late and the freshness and vibrancy are gone. We do so little to the fruit once we get it into the winery - ferment in the tank, bottle in March - that the picking decision is really our only chance to influence the wines' character. Luck was with us, though, and we had another week before the fruit was "Glown' like the metal on the edge of a knife."-K.H.
