60 percent of the blend was fermented in rotary tanks and 40 percent in small open-top vats. The wine was aged for 18 months in a combination of French and American Oak barrels, one-third of them new. 5.51 g/L The 2004 Cloverdale Ranch Merlot delivers notes of toasty oak and cedar from the oak barrel aging, along with concentrated fruit flavors of strawberry, red cherry, and raspberry. This Merlot is excellent now but has the structure to develop beautifully and will continue to mature. Enjoy!
