The 2005 harvest for Pelerin from Rosella's included a half acre of clone 828 for the first time. The winemaker feels it adds a new dimension to the wine as well as boosting production by about 15%. Pelerin ages this wine in mostly used one to three year old barrels to emphasize fruit. Shows a very pretty nose of concentrated black cherry, nutmeg and vanilla. The palate brings flavors of supple ripe cherry emphasizing spicy and smooth texture. A very solid effort.
