Peju Province Winery Zinfandel Rutherford Estate Bottled 2007
WINEMAKER NOTES: The Zinfandel was harvested Aug. 2005 from 100% Estate Persephone Vineyard fruit. The wine was aged in American Oak barrels for 10 months with 10% new Oak; the balance of the cooperage between 1 and 4-year-old barrels. The wine was bottled unfined. 100% Zinfandel. SENSORY DESCRIPTION: Dark purple and garnet in color with aromas of raspberry, cranberry, dried cherry, and clove. Bright, blackberry jam gives way to a round, spicy impression on the palate. Big, bold tannins give this wine a long, lingering finish.
Medium red color, spicey, mildly fruity. nice dry finish. can drink right away. very good
Great fruity Zin. Still a good amount of pepper. Decent zin.
The finest Zinfafel I have tasted, amazingly smooth on the palate and not to dry.
One of the best Zins I've had the pleasure of tasting. Great to drink right away.

Wine Tasting NotesThe color of the wine has cherry and raspberry hues, with shades of purple. There are aromas of raspberry and blackberry preserves and ripe cherry, which are accented by notes of crme brulee, cedar and dried fruits. The wine has a sweet fore-palate, which is followed by a full mid-palate. It shows suppleness and displays flavors of strawberry and raspberry jam, chocolate and anise. This Zinfandel has a very silky finish that is lingering and lengthy, and is complimented by dark chocolate undertones. 100% Estate grown fruit, 100% Zinfandel.
