Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Blanc Waipara Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon 2008
In this traditional Bordeux blend the sauvignon blanc has given a complex range of exotic aromas and flavours suggestive of lychees, pawpaw, Turkish musk and passion-fruit, backed by hints of gooseberry and dried wild herbs. The semillon has added complementary lemon and lime flavours and helps fill out the mid-palate providing weight and depth. The Wine has a backbone of tangy minerality and acidity which helps dry out the palate and give it a zippy finish.
Editorial Reviews for Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Blanc Waipara Sauvignon Blanc-Sémillon
Toasty on the nose, with lots of beeswax notes, green herbs, noticeably sulfur and honeyed over-ripe fruit tones. Rich, soft and very broad in the mouth with real complexity that sees the Sauvignon Blanc just starting to knit together with the Semillon. Still herbal, particularly on entry, before turning almost tropically fruity, with emerging background notes of dried orchard fruits in a round, fairly long style. 89pts
