This has a great raw character, it’s a bit too woody but the light sour cherry,spice, herb and fruit notes are both intense and distinctive. There is a stoniness that is mouth watering and lovely notes of mushroom and watermelon accents the fruit. Lean on entry with great acidity and a nice mineral cut to the cherry pie filling fruit. Impressive length and surprisingly complex with herb and spice notes, Perhaps a touch rustic though the good acids and tannins are well balanced, excellent austerity with a zest cherry finish. This has real Sangiovese character though many might want more body and a bit less herbal character. 91pts

Add your reviewA robust meaty nose of ethyls and animal flesh. Its rich, layered with licorice and baked fruits and has a slightly tart, but solid finish. There's a lot of raw minerality, and even some delicate violet notes after the power has died away. A real bargain for $12!
Color me impressed. There's bunches of cherries and spice on the nose. Flavors are balanced, with creaminess and acidity. The cherry is joined with a hint of red berries, some licorice, tree bark and a clump of earth for good measure. Great value.
Interesting and bossy character. Goes down with a likeliness of lemongrass, spearmint, and black pepper. Forward with the black and blue berries.

Wine Tasting NotesThe color a deep purple-red hue, our Sangiovese offers rich aromas of black raspberry, cherry and violets. The texture is full-bodied with flavors of berry, cranberry and pomegranate mixed with moderate tannins. The finish is full-flavored and zesty, with mouth-filling notes of chocolate and spice.
Winemaker's Notes:
Harvest of our Sangiovese took place the first week of October. The grapes were crushed into stainless steel fermentors and fermented for 10 days. The cap was pumped over periodically to enhance the color, flavor and intensity in the wine. The wine was aged in seasoned American oak barrels for twenty one months and developed additional smoothness and complexity through this process. We age our Sangiovese in seasoned barrels to allow the fruit aromas and flavors to shine through. For depth of color and flavor, we blended in a portion of Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah.

Medium-bodied, our Sangiovese is framed by good fruit, well-integrated tannins and a long, full flavored finish.
