Pedro Luis Martinez Jumilla Alceño Selcción Crianza 2003

Member Review by ryanopaz:

Monastrell, Tempranillo, Syrah 4 months in 1/2 American oak and 1/2 French oak Light browning at the rim of a reddish core. The nose shows wood, and faint fruit. High acidity and a low levels of fruit in the mouth. I think this wine is past it's prime. 2/5 [NR]

A bit on the cold side at the time of tasting. The nose is reserved and shows mainly wood. In the mouth it is not cloying as the acidity is high and helps to balance it. Great fruit flavors of blackberries, and black cherries round out a lush soft mouthfeel. Fun to drink. 4/5 [NR]

Monestrell, Tempranillo, Syrah 6months in French oak Rich blackfruits show on the nose which jumps from the glass. Nice acidty with a firm tannin structure. The palate is showing a good mix of blackberries, raspberries, and clove. Good body and weight. Nice wine. 3.5/5 [NR]
