Pedro Domecq Xa Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Member Review by Stephen:

Also enjoyed at a restaurant in San Cristobal, had it with steak and a ridiculously hot habañero salsa verde. Nice nose of fresh blackberries and plums (it is an ’06 after all), but a bit young in the mouth with a green/vegetal undertone and a fair bit of tannin. Overall it’s not bad, but at $11 not worth it, much better under $8.

DOMECQ BODEGAS’ eleven wineries are located in eight internationally prestigious winemaking areas - Rioja, Navarra, Rías Baixas, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, La Mancha, Valdepeñas and Jumilla. The focus of every bodega is primarily on developing the individual character and quality of the wines, a concern reflected in the major investment made by the Group in vineyards, oenologists, casks, and other such essential resources aimed at preserving each bodegas’ individuality. In addition, the group also has a large volume division, with wines from various Spanish designations of origin, as well as table wines, flavoured wines (sangría) and liqueur wines from all our Bodegas.
