The grapes, the progeny of the soil, are the key to any successful winer y. At Peconic Bay Winery, we have been entrusted with the care and nurturing of some of the oldest vines on the North Fork, a precious legacy. These fine assets, in the hands of individuals passionate about coaxing the best from the vine and the cellar, set the stage at our vineyard for the creation of premium varietal wines. We are committed to making wines of distinction from rolling acres of vineyards, sloping gently down to the Peconic Bay and rising majestically up to the Long Island Sound, in this bucolic corner of heaven known as the North Fork. We hope to make the experience of tasting our wines enjoyable and memorable for both the connoisseur and those with a more casual appreciation of wine. We look forward to welcoming you at Peconic Bay Winery on the Main Road in Cutchogue. Our wines are the product of the soil and mild climate of Cutchogue, Long Island, the town with the most days of sunshine and the longest growing season in New York State. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

The 2009 growing season was more challenging than most. Heavy rainfall throughout most of June yielded a poor fruit set and required more attention to detail in the vineyard. This wine represents an aromatic departure for the kind of fruit we're used to producing from this vineyard. It resembles the floral Rieslings produced on granitic soils in Alsace. Normally, the resultant wines from our vineyards are reminiscent of those grown on limestone soils in that they are focused and imbued with mineral and citrus aromas. This grape is truly a chameleon in the way it mimics its' terroir.
