The winery's notes on this wine are pretty spot-on. Typical zin nose of dark berries with a bit of vanilla/oak. Rich, full mouthfeel with continuing dark fruit and hints of menthol & carmel. Delicious.
Aroma of stone fruit with hints of spice and cedar. Very full and inviting. The taste follows through with strong dark fruit flavors: dark cherries, blackberries, and plum. Vanilla and cinnamon. Very full/chewy mouthfeel. A little alcoholic heat with a smooth aftertaste. Overall, a very good wine that I think does well with or without food.
Winemaker's Notes:
Wine Tasting Notes Being a larger lot with various vineyards, experimentation plays a large role with this wine. Think of yourself sitting in your kitchen preparing a meal and standing in front of your spice rack. There are many choices, but there are those that will benefit from others and those that will have more of an impact on the meal. The same comes into play with putting the WESTSIDE blend together. A bit of this and a splash of that and you we come up with a fabulous wine. The wine has an elegant ruby color with a compilation of different flavors. These consist of cherries, vanilla, black pepper, spice, plums, blackberries, cedar notes, light toast, cinnamon, savory and a velvet texture.
