Food Pairings for Pazo de Señorans Albariño
Pale gold color to this wine with a nose that seems to call for your attention while giving a riff on what it means to be a peach. Nectarine? Oh wait, melons from the south of France, orange and intense, ripe and rich. Or was it a mango in disguise, I love the indecision as I return to it for the next surprise. In the mouth I love the light spritz I'm getting with a strong streak of acidity down the middle. The wine is creamy and lush with great fruit, and nice body. Serious wine that can laugh at itself, you want to contemplate this with some rich white fleshed fish and skip the sauce. I think it would dance along side what you paired with it, sharing secrets as you enjoyed the duo. Give me more, oh wait there's that peach again!

Wow, great acidity, but not overwhelming, rather like tasting a gentle wave of minerals lap over your tongue leaving a gentle green apple and a creamy white peach finish. I'm craving this wine with a pile of fresh shrimp showered with fresh lemon

Very well described here. An excellent accompaniment w/shellfish. A nice change of pace from the Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough. A little more difficult to find though...so get it here and take it with you. Enjoy!
Fun, fruity, but exquisitely dry and exceptionally drinkable. If you serve this at a party rather than the standard Chardonnays & Sauvignon Blancs, I guarantee half your guests (at least!) will ask what it is and where they can get some.

Glänzendes Strohgelb mit limonengrünen Nuancen. In der Nase kommen die Eigenschaften der Albariño- Traube zum Tragen: Aromen von Apfel, Aprikose, tropischen Früchten, Zitrone. Ebenso florale Anklänge von Bergamotte und Feldblume. Im Gaumen frisch und ausgewogen mit passender Säure. In der Gaumenaromatik dominieren grüne Äpfel, Zitrusfrucht und tropische Früchte.
Pazo de Senorans was established in 1989 in the village of Vilanoviña, Meis lying in the middle of the vineyards of the Val do Salnés sub region of Rias Baixas. Rias Baixas is in the Galicia area of northwest Spain, bordered on to the north by the Cantabrian Sea and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The bodega was bought by Marisol Bueno and her husband Javier Mareque and in 1979 they began by restoring the old farm buildings with a view to producing only Albariño. Replacement of the old kiwi orchards and some of the other grape varieties, such as Rosal, was followed in 1989 by installation of the new equipment for the cellars. This has all been housed in the old farm buildings whose 60cm granite walls maintain a constant temperature throughout the year. The first vintage at Pazo de Senorans was 1990, released in 1991. In 1992 a young enologist and master of viticulture, Ana Quintela, started work at the estate. In addition to the 10 hectares of vineyard owned by Pazo de Senorans, the bodega brings in fruit from a small number of local growers and it is with these that Ana spends much of her time promoting good practice in the vineyards. Light, pale gold with youthful highlights, the 2007 Albarino is perfumed and fresh, with notes of white peaches and apricots on the nose. On the palate, it is clean and fresh, with a racy acidity reminiscent of good Riesling, combined with plenty of ripe, stone fruit and good depth.
