Pazo de Barrantes Albarino Rias Baixas 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Peñín Guide to Spanish Wine: (100% albariño). Colour: bright yellow. Nose: expressive, dried herbs, ripe fruit, spicy. Palate: flavourful, fruity, good acidity, balanced. (2017) 90-91 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): ...2015 was a warm, early harvest that also helped in that direction. The nose is very expressive with grassy aromas and very balsamic, mixing bay leaf with waxy apples, a little minty, with hints of quince and some white pepper. The palate is quite unctuous, in their style, perhaps amplified by the exuberance of the year, while keeping the freshness and acidity. For comparison's sake I also sampled the 2012, which could be a similar vintage; it is evolving really nicely and gaining complexity. Drink: 2016-2020. (Apr 2016)

Just real good inexpensive white wine. Need to stock more Albarino for the upcoming summer months.

Pale gold in color, with a medium developing nose of grapefruit, yeast, apricot. Good medium+ acidity, medium body, with a medium palate of grapefruit, yeast, lemon zest, apricot. Length is a bit short though. Overall acceptable quality level, ready to drink and can keep.

Wine Tasting NotesPazo Barrantes has a full nose with developed apricot and peachy notes mixed with ripe apple. It has a well-balanced palate; the acidity is crisp without being sharp. Fruits are soft and ripe with a dominant apricot character. The wine has excellent mouthfeel as well as noteworthy purity. It will evolve gracefully over the next years.
