A blend of 50% Aragones (aka Tempranillo) and 50% Trincadeira. A dark inky purple red color with a strong nose of wet tobacco, black raspberry, and blackberry. On the palate are flavorful amounts of red and black berry fruit with a pinch of dried black chili flakes. The wine is dry, medium bodied, with tart acidity, weak astringent tannins, and a medium finish. This is a decent red blend which is one dimensional with lots of black fruit but not much else. The 2005 vintage was much more complex. Hopefully this will develop a little more in bottle. 2.5/5
