"The 2010 Pinot Noir Suerte Solomon Hills Vineyard is fabulous. It boasts tremendous richness and power in its rich, heady, dark fruit. This is a classic expression of Solomon Hills Pinot. Persistent saline notes underpin layers of juicy yet precise, nuanced fruit. The 90% new oak is a bit prominent, but the Suerte is striking juice all the same...94+" WA 8/12 "Deep ruby. Perfumed nose displays raspberry, cherry-cola, pungent herbs, potpourri and mocha. Fleshy and sweet but also nicely focused, with a suave floral quality adding complexity to the flavors of raspberry, candied cherry and licorice. Impressively lush and broad, finishing with silky tannins and excellent floral persistence. This wine got 90% new oak "by accident," according to Lato. "I didn't intend to give it that much but as I tasted through the barrels I realized that it could handle it."...93" IWC 11/12
