A great value that shows potential of the '98 vintage in Southern Rhône. Hedonistic and dense, with smoke, red berry, mocha and black chocolate, this medium-bodied, medium-intense, nicely oaked red makes for delightful drinking now through 2003.
I didn't spend too much time thinking about this wine. I just poured it, drank it, and enjoyed it. Good, grapey Côtes-du-Rhône made year in and year our to a formula that works. Reliable and solid, as opposed to special. An undeniable value.
The 1996 possesses a dark plum color, kirsch-like fruit and a straightforward, medium-bodied, easy-going style that requires consumption over the next 2-3 years.
Appropriately named after the vineyards along the 45th latitude, Jaboulets "Parallel 45" Cotes de Rhône is a soft and supple style with ripe cherry, plum, and black pepper flavors that finish with a smooth and smoky character. Great with grilled food, enjoy this wine at your next tailgate party.
A delicious Côtes du Rhône at a more than reasonable price, this red is rich and concentrated, displaying raspberry, cherry and dried herb notes, light tannins and a lengthy aftertaste. Drink now through 2000.
Named after latitude 45, which runs right past the Paul Jaboulet Ané winery, this Côtes du Rhône is one of the biggest brands in the region, with 1.2 million bottles sold each year. It has a ripe southern feel to it, with aromas of almonds, vanilla and herbes de Provence. Red fruits and fine, dusty tannins give it a warm richness and easy accessibility.
