Paul Jaboulet Aine Cornas Domaine de Saint Pierre 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"Another huge, massive, concentrated, black-hued effort is the 2009 Cornas Domaine de St.-Pierre (500 cases) from their 12 acres of estate holdings on steep hillsides. A quintessential Cornas, it exhibits gamy black and blue fruits, huge tannins and a big, full-bodied, masculine style oozing with extract. Although aged in 10-15% new oak barrels, the wood component is buried beneath the extravagant fruit and extract."Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Pierre Morey:
The total area of the domaine is 11 hectares, distributed in different parcels located in the districts of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and, of course Meursault. All the vineyards were cultivated following organic agricultural practices from 1992 to 1997, at the end of this period the domaine became 100% biodynamic.
